Social Services Volunteer Coordinator
Duration: June 22 – August 14, 2026 (8 weeks)

Responsibilities:

Screens potential volunteers to ensure alignment with organizational needs

Develops and maintains a volunteer database, tracking hours, roles, and contact information

Coordinates volunteer schedules and assignments for programs, events, and ongoing projects

Plans and organizes volunteer appreciation activities to recognize contributions and boost engagement

Collaborates with staff to identify areas where volunteers can provide support and enhance operations

Prepares and distributes volunteer-related communications, including newsletters and updates

Monitors volunteer performance and creates reports for management

Collects and reports volunteer metrics for inclusion in monthly and quarterly organizational reports

Assists with event planning and execution by coordinating volunteer roles and responsibilities
Qualifications:

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English (verbal and written).

Must be between 15 - 30 years of age (in accordance with program funding requirements).

Must be legally entitled to work in Ontario, with valid Canadian citizenship, permanent resident, or protected/refugee status.

Must have a clear and valid Vulnerable Sector Police check issued within the past six months (or willingness to obtain).

Completion of secondary education (high school) is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or administrative support is considered an asset.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience with data entry and database management, including tracking volunteer hours and maintaining accurate records.

Ability to coordinate schedules and manage logistics for programs, events, and initiatives.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse volunteers, staff, and community members.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Experience preparing reports, communications, newsletters, or updates is an asset.

Reliable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards when handling volunteer information.

Ability to speak additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Pashto, Hindi, or others is an asset.

Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, cultural and spiritual sensitivity and community-based work.
