Sara Samy

Counsellor

Sara Samy is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Her journey in psychotherapy began with a strong desire to support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety and trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
With a warm, welcoming, and humanistic therapeutic style, Sara strives to create a non-judgmental space where clients feel accepted and supported. She believes that every person is the expert in their own life, empowering them to take the driver's seat in their sessions. Through unconditional positive regard, genuineness, congruence, and empathetic understanding, Sara helps clients make the necessary changes to recover and achieve their goals.
Sara’s practice is grounded in person-centered therapy, complemented by other approaches tailored to each client’s specific needs. These approaches include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Inner Child Work, Trauma-Informed Care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Somatic Therapy.
Specialties:
Individual Therapy: Sara helps clients navigate challenges such as anxiety (generalized, social, phobias), depression, eating disorders, lack of self-compassion/self-esteem, trauma, and more, providing tools to foster resilience and well-being.
Sara is currently completing her practicum with Muslim Social Services. Passionate about the importance of mental health, she believes that mental wellness is essential to leading a balanced and fulfilling life. With a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate their emotional and psychological challenges, Sara supports clients in developing resilience, gaining self-awareness, and finding inner peace.
