Annelise Baker

Counsellor

Annelise Baker is a dedicated and empathetic counsellor (MSW, RSW). When clients first connect with Annelise, they are met with warmth and nonjudgement. Annelise's approach to therapy is hope-filled and encouraging. She believes in building a strong connection where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their paths toward healing and resilience.

Annelise holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Guelph. She is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Her background in community development enriches her practice with a focus on social justice and accessibility, as well as an understanding of holistic healing and the importance of community belonging.

Drawing from evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment Theory, Annelise tailors her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client and family. Her practice also integrates art and play as therapeutic tools, creating an engaging and expressive environment for children and youth.

- Individual Therapy: Annelise provides individual counselling to help adults, youth, and children navigate anxiety, stress, and life transitions with evidence-based approaches and strategies to cope.
- Child and Adolescent Therapy: Annelise specializes in working with children and youth, using creative and developmentally appropriate methods to support emotional expression and coping skills.
- Family Support: Annelise works with parents (particularly for clients under age 12) to provide tools and resources to support their child's mental health.
- Holistic Care: Annelise respectfully integrating clients’ cultural and spiritual values into their therapeutic journey. Annelise recognizes the impacts of social inequity on mental health, as well as the importance of social connection and community.
