About the Training:
The Safer Families workshop explores domestic and family violence through a culturally and spiritually sensitive lens. The training focuses on Islamic perspectives on family, marriage, divorce, and domestic violence, while helping distinguish cultural practices from religious beliefs. Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to support Muslim individuals and families experiencing violence.
Training Topics Include:
Reflecting on personal lenses, stereotypes, and gendered Islamophobia
Islamic perspectives on family, marriage, and divorce
Understanding domestic violence within an Islamic framework
Practical approaches to supporting Muslim spouses and children and promoting safe families
