The 2025 Mindful Gardening Program empowers seniors to nurture the land and each other, in partnership with Crow Shield Lodge and Wisahkotewinowak.

King Charles III Coronation Medal
Our executive director, Duaa Al-Aghar, received the King Charles III Coronation Medal from Jess Dixon, MPP of Kitchener South—Hespeler. The medal celebrates the lasting impact MSS has left on the KW community.

Mother's Day 2025
For Mother's Day, MSSWR hosted an event at a park for women from diverse backgrounds. To break isolation and build community, the gathering included a multicultural potluck lunch and the distribution of roses and thoughtful gifts.

2025 Community Care
Volunteer with our team at a community dinner for individuals in need at Ray of Hope in Kitchener. We will help prepare, serve, and clean up the meal, working alongside Muslim Social Services to make a direct impact in our community.

Al-Nour Project
The Al-Nour Project empowers women by helping them build confidence, resilience, and optimism. Through dedicated sessions and initiatives, the program provides resources that inspire participants to develop their skills and take control of their lives in a fulfilling way.

Cooking for Unhoused
In partnership with Islamic Relief Canada, the event focuses on preparing and distributing over 200 meals to unhoused neighbours at Ray of Hope. The initiative provides essential nourishment and care to build a more inclusive and stronger community.

International Women's Day Iftar
MSSWR and Oma Fresh Foods host an Iftar for International Women's Day and Ramadan. This evening of reflection and unity honors the strength and resilience of women in the community over a delicious shared meal.

March Umbrellas
Muslim Social Services of Waterloo Region (MSSWR) received a certificate of recognition during a visit to United Way‘s new offices. The certificate acknowledges their work in promoting mental wellness, inclusion, community connection, and serving vulnerable people.
